Arise, Slay, and Eat!
As believers in Christ, we must always operate in faith if we want to become the people God has called us to be. There are three main things that we must do so that we can walk in the plan God has for our lives. Arise, slay, and eat!
ARISE:
God knows our future. That is because He knew us spiritually before we were ever born physically.
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee;”
- Jeremiah 1:5
So that means He knows every troubling and challenging situation we will ever face in life.Sometimes, we cannot stop the challenges from coming. However, we can stop them from prospering. God created us to rise above anything that may be trying to stop us from receiving His promises.
“And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath;”
- Deuteronomy 28:13
We just have to do our part and use what He has given us to be victorious.

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
- Psalm 139:14
When God created us, He gave each one of us a gift. If we use our gift to glorify God and bring people to Christ, that gift will open doors for us that we could have never imagined.
“A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”
- Proverbs 18:16
If you want to find out what your gift is, you must continue to increase your relationship with God and obey Him. As you continue to serve God and operate in your faith, your gift and your purpose will become clearer. God uses people to spread His love to others. So, He is counting on us to utilize our gift to be a light to people who need hope. Some people who are living in darkness do not want to be in darkness. They just need more guidance, direction, and love to show them the way out. Your gift can be that light.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
- Matthew 5:16
When we use our gift to teach the word of God, encourage, and give others hope, not only will God be glorified, but He will continue to increase us, so we continue to be a blessing.
“The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.”
- Psalm 115:14
SLAY:
We have the ability to slay by using our words because our words have power.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
- Proverbs 18:21
“The tongue can speak words that bring life or death. Those who love to talk must be ready to accept what it brings.”
- Proverbs 18:21 ERV
That means the words we speak will determine the type of life we will have. We cannot go through life speaking negativity over ourselves. We must always speak what the word of God says about any situation we face. Continue to speak life, regardless of the challenges you see. In fact, that is one of the foundation faith principles Jesus taught to His disciples. You have what you say.
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
- Mark 11:23
So, even though you may see sickness, instead of saying “I’m sick.”, say, “I am healed!”
Even though you may be stressed, instead of talking negative, say, “I have peace that passethall understanding!”
Even though you may be going through a financial challenge, instead of saying, “I’m broke.”, say, “I am blessed to be a blessing. I am highly favored. Doors of opportunities are opening for me!”
That is how you slay using your words. Do not let your situation change your words; let your words change your situation.
We must also share our testimony to others.Your testimony is the weapon that shuts the mouth of the enemy. Also, people need to see examples of how God can bring them through any situations they face.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;”
- Revelation 12:11
EAT:
After you have risen and slayed, it is time for you to eat. God rewards those who are faithful in seeking Him and applying His word.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
- Hebrews 11:6
God has prepared a table for you to feast at because of your diligence, faithfulness, obedience, and sacrifice.
“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:”
- Psalm 23:5
But what is on the table?
The table contains the following: peace, joy, favor, healing, opportunities, connections, breakthroughs, redemption, increase, prosperity, and victory.
You will see the goodness of the Lord and eat from His table when you make an intentional effort to serve Him and do the work of His Kingdom. Your future is depending on your commitment.
You will become the person God has called you to be when you Arise, Slay, and Eat!
